Застосування інтерактивних методів у процесі викладання курсу професійної англійської мови

Abstract

UK: Статтю присвячено особистісно-орієнтованому напрямку, що є невід’ємною частиною інтерактивних методів навчання іноземної мови. Авторка акцентує увагу на важливості та ефективності застосування інтерактивних методів у процесі викладання курсу професійної англійської мови у вищій школі. У статті розглянуто дидактичні передумови організації інтерактивного навчання, проаналізовано ефективність кожного наведеного прикладу інтерактивного завдання, які становлять основу для формування іншомовної комунікативної компетенції здобувачів. Підкреслюється позитивний вплив інтерактивних занять з професійної англійської не тільки на рівень мовної компетентності здобувачів, а також на особистісні характеристики та атмосферу стосунків в академічній групі. Крім цього, приділяється увага ролі викладача у процесі організації занять з професійної англійської інтерактивної спрямованості. EN: The article deals with the question of interactive methods use in the process of ESP (English for specific purposes) course teaching. The author gives an outline of the main tasks and types of interactive activities in the process of ESP course teaching to reinforce autonomy and motivation of students. Brainstorming technique, pair work, role play, discussion, webquests, mingle tasks are the most popular interactive tasks and activities in the process of ESP course teaching. The purpose of brainstorming activity is to generate as many ideas as possible within a specified period of time. Mingle tasks are an effective way to involve students actively in communicative interactions and increase their talking time. Webquests are considered good for revision classes. These tasks can be realized individually or in mini groups. Discussion is good for starting any new topic or unit. It is possible to discuss in pairs, mini groups or all together. The author stressed that role plays are excellent opportunity to express personal point of view. Individual approach should be used for choosing a role for every student. Interactive tasks and activities are considered as effective methods to improve the quality of foreign language teaching and learning. Besides, the role of the interactive methods of teaching is stressed as to their positive effect on not only students’ language competence but some personal characteristics and interrelations within academic groups. Special attention is paid to the English instructor’s role in this process. Now an English instructor is an advisor, partner, coordinator, and a student becomes a rightful participant of education process. The main requirement of interactive methods use is creativity of an instructor that will provide nonstandard, effective and interesting classes. Interactive methods allow not to forget that every learner is unique and brings to the process of education her or his personal opinion, point of view and attitude. Interactive classes have atmosphere of educational interaction between a learner and an educator that influences well the quality of learning English language. Interactive methods of teaching ESP course capable to remove communication barriers, help with psychological discomfort, raise self-assessment, improve memory and creative thinking.
