Abstract: UK: Стаття присвячена з’ясуванню ролі менеджера в сучасних умовах функціонування підприємства. Визначені основні якості, необхідні для проведення ефективної професійної діяльності менеджера в системі управління готельним бізнесом. Проаналізовано стан розвитку готельного бізнесу в Україні. Доведено, що менеджера можна назвати незамінним робітником, який визначає цілі і задачі готельного бізнесу, координує його діяльність, керує співробітниками, аналізує ефективність бізнесу. EN: Tourism is impossible to imagine without the hotel industry, as it is an integral part of the market of tour-ist services in the modern economy. Hotel business, both in domestic and world practice is a promising area of business. Modern enterprises of the hotel industry are in a tough competitive environment. But despite the unstable economic situation, the hotel business continues to grow. Management plays a key role in the hotel business. The purpose of management in the hotel business is to provide a quality product in accordance with the standards of service, taking into account the interests of consumers: staff, finance, marketing, etc. The modern manager of the hotel business quite often faces various problems which demand from its certain ability. The manager of the hotel business must have certain competencies, which are professional experience, knowledge, skills, ability to act in different situations. Today's high-end hotels need managers of different levels. Today in Ukraine there is a shortage of effective managers. The main reasons for their lack are an inefficient system of work motivation; lack of advanced training; shortcomings in the quality system of managers. We agree with scientists who say that to increase the profitability of the hotel business it is necessary to create a quality management system. This system provides for the provision of high-quality hotel services, taking into account the interests of consumers. The work of a hotel manager should be based on training, incentives and incentives for the result. The hotel is a part of the service sector in the economy, the role, as well as the oath of the servants, are hoping for a kind of uninterrupted growth in the world of social and economic development of the country. Success, but failure to be found is in the hands of the leadership. That is why the role of the manager of the pole is that, in order to find the most effective rank of victorious resources, one should be in the second order. So, by the way, the successful manager in the hotel business must live the needs of the hotel.
